Over UAH 5.4 Billion Transferred for Needs of Defense from Special Account Opened by NBU

As of 1 February 2025, the balance in the special fundraising account the NBU opened to support the defense forces on 24 February 2022 made over UAH 18.3 billion. Last month, over UAH 11.7 billion was received in the special account.

Over UAH 61.8 billion was received in the special account since russia launched the full-scale war.

Money has been coming in from individuals and businesses of Ukraine and from all over the international community (including the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, Sweden, Finland, Poland, Switzerland, Norway, Australia, France, Canada, Bulgaria, Hong Kong, and many other countries). 

That includes the equivalent of over UAH 40.9 billion that has been remitted from abroad in foreign currencies (U.S. Dollars, euros, GB pounds, Canadian dollars, Chinese renminbi, Japanese yen, Swiss francs, Polish zlotys, Australian dollars).

Overall, since the start of the full-scale war, the NBU has allocated almost UAH 43.4 billion, including over UAH 5.4 million in January 2025 to meet the needs of the defense, specifically:

• over UAH 1,561 million for the National Guard of Ukraine
• UAH 1,650 million for the National Police of Ukraine
• over UAH 28,484 million for the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine (including UAH 3.8 million transferred on 15 January 2025 and UAH 957.5 million on 20 January 2025)
• UAH 988 million for the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine
• over UAH 7,529 million for the State Service of Special Communication and Information Protection of Ukraine (UAH 192.5 million transferred on 17 January 2025)
• over UAH 156.2 million for the State Emergency Service of Ukraine
• almost UAH 40.1 million for the NSDC of Ukraine
• over UAH 233 million for the State Special Transport Service
• over UAH 573 million for the Security Service of Ukraine
• over UAH 286.9 million for the needs of military units
• over UAH 1,404 million for the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine
• almost UAH 488.7 million for the Defence Procurement Agency (UAH 440 million on 20 January 2025).
