What is the purpose of the NBU BankID System?
The BankID system of the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) was established to ensure for the public a convenient and secure access to public, financial, commercial, and other services that can be provided remotely and require identification.
BankID performs transmission of personal data of users from the subscribed identifier (bank servicing the user’s account) to the subscribed service provider (providing services requiring such data). So, the system performs electronic remote identification of individuals.

Are personal data secured in BankID?
Yes, BankID identification is safe for users. BankID does not store personal data of users.
All user data is transmitted encrypted by BankID affixing a qualified electronic signature or a qualified electronic seal of the bank.
Only the personal data owner can initiate transmission of this data from the subscribed identifier to the subscribed service provider. Identification data shall not be transmitted to third parties without the user’s (data owner) consent.
